Specialists in the conversion of all video formats including Hi8, VHS, Betamax and U-Matic tape
Sony released the Hi8 format in 1989 in competition to the S-VHS format. Hi8 offered higher resolutions than the preceding technologies such as Video 8 and VHS and Hi8 video quality was actually good enough to be considered to near broadcast quality and often used in news gathering situations.
As with all videotape formats there is a time limit for its usability and storage life. As the tape formulation degrades over time, the image information will also decline. It is still a very robust format with good image data retention when compared to the larger VHS tape format.
Tapes should be transferred as soon as possible before video noise begins to appear during playback.
All domestic and some broadcast video formats are covered in our video to DVD transfer service.
We also convert Super 8mm, 16mm and 9.5mm film formats. |
